Ruf Lanz for Suva: A stadium full of injured people

More and more people are actively organizing their leisure time. This development also has a downside: the high number of accidents. A Suva campaign by Ruf Lanz aims to change that.

Suva's Suvaliv brand is committed to improving safety in leisure activities. In its prevention campaigns, it focuses on sports with high injury potential and high accident costs. Suvaliv is therefore also on the ball when it comes to football: around 400,000 amateur footballers play regularly in Switzerland. Around 45,000 accidents occur every year - more than in any other sport. Suva has developed a sophisticated football test so that footballers can become better acquainted with their own risk behavior. The test consists of 50 questions on seven different topics: Injuries, lifestyle, training, level of play, fitness, equipment, fair play. The evaluation of the questionnaire shows in which dimensions the player has potential for improvement and how he can reduce his risk of injury.

To promote the new Suva football test to the general public, Ruf Lanz has created a sensational new TV spot. The agency has already conceived numerous prevention campaigns on behalf of Suva since 2002 and has won numerous awards for its work.

In the new campaign, legions of injured people hobble into a soccer stadium. They trudge up the stairs on their crutches, squeeze through the narrow turnstiles at the entrance in plaster, and painstakingly search for their seats. In the end, the entire stadium is full of 45,000 male and female soccer players who have been forced to watch due to injuries. The elaborate film was realized by Ruf Lanz and Suva in close cooperation with the Swiss film production Stories, directed by Michael Fueter, and is being shown throughout Switzerland these days. Accompanying online measures, posters and advertisements are used.
