Swiss Life: Elke Guhl appointed Head of Marketing

Elke Guhl, currently Head of Marketing at the online career portal Monster Germany, will become Head of Marketing at Swiss Life Switzerland as of January 1, 2014. She succeeds Thomas Langenegger, who is leaving the company.

"Elke Guhl has many years of project and management experience in marketing and sales. We are very pleased that she is joining us," says Ivo Furrer, CEO Switzerland at Swiss Life. "Swiss Life wants to develop in Switzerland from a pure life insurer into a provider of comprehensive pension and financial solutions. This means that we also want to break new ground in our approach to clients. In this regard, Elke Guhl's experience in both the consumer goods market and the fast-moving online business will help us decisively." To underline the strategic importance of marketing, Elke Guhl will also be appointed to the Executive Board Switzerland in her role.

45-year-old Elke Guhl started her career in 1994 at the international consumer goods company Henkel, where she held numerous positions in Germany and abroad. In 2004, she took over overall business responsibility for the cosmetics business of Schwarzkopf & Henkel Cosmetics in Switzerland as General Manager Retail, before moving to eBay International Switzerland as Country Manager in 2007. Since April 2011, Elke Guhl has been responsible for all marketing activities for Germany, Austria and Switzerland as Vice President Marketing at Monster Worldwide Germany.

Swiss Life's previous Head of Marketing Switzerland, Thomas Langenegger, is leaving the company after five successful years. Ivo Furrer: "Thomas Langenegger has professionalized Marketing Switzerland in crucial areas, expanded social media activities and, with the 'Wendesätzen', was responsible for one of the most successful Swiss campaigns of recent years. We thank him for his valuable support and wish him all the best for his personal and professional future."
