Campaign forum scatters rumors

Last Sunday, Campaign Forum used eBoards to spread rumors about celebrity couples separating. On Monday, these were resolved and the link to blood stem cell donation was established.

On behalf of Swiss Transfusion SRC, the Campaign Forum launched a campaign on 7.7. to promote blood stem cell donors. With the headline "He (or she) is not my type", prominent couples were to irritate passers-by on e-board ads in almost all train stations in Switzerland.

In cases of leukemia or other life-threatening diseases of the hematopoietic system, a blood stem cell transplant is often the only chance for a cure. If no matching donor can be found in the family, a worldwide search for an outside donor is launched. For a matching donation, however, certain tissue characteristics of the donor and recipient must match. There are billions of different combinations of these characteristics. Finding the right type is therefore difficult. The more people register, the higher the probability of a match. Blood transfusion SRC Switzerland therefore wants to increase the number of registered people in Switzerland).

To achieve this goal, the Campaign Forum has realized the campaign "You are not my type". On e-boards in all large and medium-sized train stations, prominent couples announced on July 7: "He (or she) is not my type." The headline is illustrated with a tear through the heart that the two are holding in their hands.

The Campaign Forum was able to recruit Renzo Blumenthal and his wife Ladina for the campaign, as well as Christina Surer and her husband Martin Tomczyk. Other ambassadors are Eva Nidecker, Cony Sutter and Peter Pfändler.

The e-board ads were in SI's design and were thus intended to give the impression that the couples were really separating. SI resolves the irritation in its print edition of July 8, 2013. The campaign is simultaneously supported by social media measures: The separation rumors are also spread on Twitter and Facebook.

With this and other means, such as two videos, the Campaign Forum aims to raise awareness of blood stem cell donation among a broader public. At Am-I-your-type.ch all the information is bundled together; in addition, people who are committed to blood stem cell donation have their say - among other things, because they are directly affected.
