Compresso: National campaign for Rheumatism League

When they hurt, everyday life is difficult: our hands are our most important tool. Compresso planned and implemented the national awareness campaign "Lueg dine Händ!" with the Rheumaliga Schweiz.

Ariella Käslin, Sabina Schneebeli, Marco Wölfli, Meta Hiltebrand, Bea Petri and Nils Althaus were brought on board as celebrity supporters. With an unusual photo series, a charity auction, a viral handshake and information days, Compresso is working with the Rheumaliga Switzerland hands in the center of interest.

Rheumatism is the number one widespread disease in Switzerland, affecting one in five people. Rheumatic diseases in the hands in particular severely restrict everyday life. This is why the Rheumaliga Schweiz is focusing on painful hands in 2013. Compresso supported the non-profit organization and developed the nationwide awareness campaign "Lueg dine Händ!". The centerpiece is a photo series by Geri Krischker featuring six prominent personalities who were recruited as official Rheumaliga ambassadors for 2013. All six are aware of how valuable their hands are for their success - they wear a red glove as a symbol of this in the campaign pictures: world gymnastics runner-up Ariella Käslin, actress Sabina Schneebeli, national football goalie Marco Wölfli, celebrity chef Meta Hiltebrand, make-up artist and Entrepreneur of the Year 2012/13 Bea Petri and actor and musician Nils Althaus. The latter sums up his commitment: "My mouth makes the punchlines, but my hands set the tone - with the guitar." And Ariella Käslin confirms: "I love my hands. They combine power and elegance."

Hands-on: photo auction, viral handshake and the national campaign week

Words are followed by deeds: On the national campaign day on September 2, 2013, the Rheumaliga Switzerland will present the exclusive portraits at Zurich main station in the presence of the ambassadors, which can then be purchased at auction on Ricardo. In addition, the red glove will be doing the rounds: equipped with this, the ambassadors will give a Rheumaliga handprint to personalities in their environment and post a picture of it on their Facebook account or website. The public is encouraged to imitate this symbolic gesture.

The campaign aims to raise public awareness and provides valuable tips for those affected. Visitors will receive expert advice on the campaign day at Zurich main station and at the public health days from August 31 to September 6, 2013 in Neuchâtel, Zurich, Basel, Bern, St. Gallen, Lucerne, Zug, Weinfelden, Schinznach and Zurzach.
