JvM/Limmat launches a new unit

Under the name Jung von Matt/next, Jung von Matt/Limmat is setting up a new agency specializing in the development of digital platforms. It is headed by Markus Schärer, who joins JvM/Limmat from Wirz.

With the founding of Jung von Matt/next, the Zurich-based communications agency is expanding its digital service spectrum in strategy, conception, creation and realization of interactive brand experiences in the area of promotional websites, corporate websites, mobile applications and interface design. "We are very pleased to be able to consistently expand our expertise in brand management in the digital age," says Dominique von Matt, CEO of JvM/Limmat.

Markus Schärer (pictured) is responsible for building up Jung von Matt/next. He joins JvM/Limmat on March 1, 2013 as Executive Digital Director and member of the Executive Board. In the future, JvM/Limmat will develop cross-media campaigns together with Jung von Matt/next, according to Alexander Jaggy, Executive Creative Director of JvM/Limmat. "The conception and realization of platforms will be done centrally at Jung von Matt/next."

Markus Schärer was previously a member of the Executive Board at Wirz and drove the integration of Assai Dialog + Digital's digital competencies into Wirz Werbung. Schärer has been working in the digital industry for almost 20 years and is considered a proven specialist with stations at Screenlight/Seiler DDB, Crealogix and Publigroupe. He is a long-standing jury member at Best of Swiss Web and a member of ADC Switzerland.

Cooperation with Hamburg

Jung von Matt/next will cooperate with the agency of the same name in Hamburg and be able to draw on its development resources. There, more than 80 employees design interactive forms of communication for Mercedes-Benz, Bosch and Nikon, for example.

The 20 digital experts at JvM/Limmat have already developed successful cross-media campaigns and social media concepts. The agency is in the eternal best list of the Best of Swiss Web and last year was able to accept the golden Euro-Effie for the most successful social media campaign in Europe for the "Obermutten" campaign. In the coming months, further specialists from the areas of design and programming will join Jung von Matt/next, as the agency announced on Thursday.

Alexander Jaggy, Executive Creative Director of JvM/Limmat, in an interview:
"Merging online and offline is not enough".
