SFLB: Swiss Banking thanks Switzerland

To mark its 100th anniversary, the Swiss Bankers Association is launching a somewhat different kind of anniversary campaign. For once, the focus is not on the banks' achievements, but on all those people who also contribute to Switzerland's well-being.

That's why 15 young photographers were sent out to take portraits of 100 people - representing the entire Swiss population - in their everyday environment. The result is a book with 100 portraits, i.e. 100 thanks to 100 professionals who could not be more different. All of the photographs will be exhibited at the ART Seefeld Gallery in Zurich from January 19 to January 30, 2012.

But it's not just Swiss Banking that says thank you. On the website www.merci-danke-grazie.ch Switzerland can also say thank you: for an employee's overtime, for the beautiful bouquet of flowers or for the best mommy in the world. The photos are uploaded as advertising subjects and also published on the Facebook page merci-danke-grazie. Over the course of the anniversary year, many thank you films will also be posted there. A Dankomat - a specially converted photo booth - is going on a roadshow across Switzerland and inviting people to capture their message of thanks on film.

The anniversary campaign is rounded off with a two-minute film. The protagonists, from the farmer to the watchmaker to the cook, are of course all authentic people.
