Valencia helps Amani raise funds via Facebook

"Amani - Support African Children" is a Bern-based nonprofit organization that promotes the welfare of Maasai children in southern Kenya. Valencia has developed a Facebook app that can be used to collect donations for a school construction project in a playful way.

The Facebook App is aimed at the German-speaking Facebook community. A school is built online in a playful campaign. Each participant simply clicks on the missing building materials, furniture and school utensils that they would like to donate to the school. Donations can be made for as little as two francs. At the end, each user "buys" the clicked items and materials by credit card or Paypal. The money thus paid in is used 1:1 for the real construction in Loitokitok, which is being driven forward by Amani in the south of Kenya at the same time.

All members of the young association work for the project on a voluntary basis from the very beginning. In this way, the administrative costs in Switzerland can be kept very low. Valencia Kommunikation also works for this project free of charge, as the agency writes in a statement. In addition, the proceeds from the advertising agency's drinks fund also flow into Loitokitok's class fund.

Responsible at Amani: Evelyn Mayer (Co-President and Treasurer of the Association) and Nicole Leibundgut (Co-President). Responsible at Valencia: Michael Gerber (CD), Tommy Schilling (senior art director), Guillermo Garcia (senior copywriter), Nicole Bollinger, Jess Williams (design), Nicole Johnson (consulting), Marc Bissegger, Colibri (app development and programming).
