Google helps Egyptian opposition tweet

Google is helping the Egyptian opposition communicate. As the Internet giant announced in its company blog on Monday, it will be possible to tweet by phone call.

The message would have to be left as a voicemail at the international numbers +1 650 419 4196 or +39 06 62 207 294 or +97 316 199 855. The messages would then be instantly published on Twitter with the keyword "egypt." They can be received through the same number or heard through Twitter.com/speak2tweet. According to Google, a small group of experts from Twitter, Google and Say Now, a company Google bought last week, were working on the service.

Google further writes in its blog that the company hopes to be able to help the people of Egypt with their communication during this very difficult time. The message was posted on the blog by Ujjwal Singh, the co-founder of Say Now and Google Product Manager for the Middle East and North Africa AbdelKarim Mardini.
