TV 3 goes to Federal Court TV 3 is taking a decision by the Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (Uvek) to the Federal Court. According to the Uvek, TV 3's short news programs do not fulfill the terms of the license. TV 3 is obliged to broadcast a full program with a focus on information and entertainment. The station is thus required to broadcast news between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and to use the largest staff budget in the information sector for this purpose. TV 3 sees this as a restriction on its programming freedom and complains that the concept of information has subsequently been reduced to political information. The short news bulletins were more successful than the earlier detailed news bulletins and also contained - in a condensed form - the same number of reports.
Berner Zeitung in third placeThe Berner Zeitung (BZ) has been the third largest Swiss daily newspaper since January 3. Thanks to the cooperation with Berner Oberland Medien AG (BOM), BZ now has a print run of 175,000 copies, an increase of
28 percent. As of today, the Thuner Tagblatt and the Berner Oberländer, including the Oberländisches Volksblatt, will be published with the layout, jacket and inserts of the BZ. Front page and local sections are produced autonomously.
