Youwant.com is a kind of personalizable web radio whose users can compile their own program from numerous styles. The offering is still under construction. In addition to print and banners, the launch campaign will primarily use radio advertising.
VW threatens Stern with boycottThe German magazine Stern is threatened with advertising losses: Volkswagen is considering no longer running ads. The reason is an article critical of VW in the May 18 issue. It claimed that VW would have to revise its profit expectations for the current year downward by DM 1.9 billion. Interpublic forms Opel unitThe Interpublic Group (IPG) is setting up its own consulting unit for Opel. The Opel Brand Communications Group, based in Frankfurt, will start work on September 1. It consists of auto advertising experts from IPG's McCann-Erickson and Lowe Lintas networks, who serve the client in various markets, as well as specialists from other IPG firms. The unit will develop integrated communications solutions for the Opel brand worldwide. It will also handle media planning and buying.
