When last Monday unsuspectingly the 91 Swiss DaimlerChrysler dealers arrived by car at the Landsgemeindeplatz in Appenzell, they thought they were in the wrong joke: Instead of the expected 91 vehicles - each dealer is given a vehicle as a demonstration car at the events, with which he later drives home - the "horned ones" found 15 cows and a precursor of the C-Class parked as if by chance: a Mercedes 190 E.

A staged humorous dispute between Diego Tomasini, Marketing Manager of DaimlerChrysler Switzerland, and an "Appenzöller" cattle farmer played by Emil Koller, which ended with the exchange of the prize-winning cow Lisa for the 190 E sealed by a handshake, resolved the confusion. Following the skit, Appenzeller specialties were dished up, and folkloric music and performances accompanied the company through a happy evening.
The actual presentation of the new vehicles took place the following day at the same location: free of charge, the municipality of Appenzell had removed the fragrant traces of the cows from the Landsgemeindeplatz overnight and transformed the livestock show into one made of 91
