Five years full of facts

Over the past five years, there has been plenty to read and gossip about Facts.

Over the past five years, there has been plenty to read and talk about Facts.by Beat Fritsch On the magazine's fifth birthday, which was celebrated last week at the Kasernenareal in Zurich, there was also plenty to eat, drink and smoke.
Party organizer Rolf Kunz - who has also organized Advertiser-of-the-Year events and was able to learn there what makes a good party - delivered solid work. The hall was surrounded by food and drink stands with the most exquisite delicacies. The guys from Rex Bar provided plenty of enjoyment in the blue haze with their cigar belly store.
When a lot of old wine gurgles into new wineskins, Frank Ebinger from Casa del Vino is not far away. He delivers palatable Chardonnay and the fashionable wine Valdemar, which does not give you a headache even with excessive consumption. The boss himself serves the wine, assisted by Petra Karasch, a self-employed decorator and stylist.
Natascha Kriesi from Caduff's Wine Loft is well versed in handling drinks. The pub is one of the Facts crew's favorite locations. And with Bruno Bötschi and Daniel Eggli (Salz & Pfeffer, Cigar), two more smoke and food specialists came to the party. Bötschi, by the way, is considered the heart (keeps the place running), Eggli the brain (came up with the whole thing) of the bustling Winterthur publishing house, where - betcha - not a single spelling dictionary can be found.
A pleasant address was given by Facts ad manager Roger Knabenhans. He confined himself to presenting his successor: Kilian Gasser, newly minted head of advertising, was area sales manager at TA-Media's Infomagazin and is returning to his former employer after a year as a consultant at HBH Communications.
The audience included journos and artists, publishers and advertisers. However, anyone who had been waiting for a speech by Hans Heinrich Coninx or Michel Favre was disappointed: the owner and CEO of TA-Media AG were conspicuous by their absence. Honi soit qui mal y pense!
The new BSW President Cornelia Harder made a special trip. The important advertising parties take place in Zurich, but Harder works in Lausanne. No wonder she was thinking about buying a BSW helicopter in the presence of Swissair advertising manager Andy Wild.
Robert Bryan came from even further away, but not in a helicopter. In Sydney, he is responsible for one of the most unusual Swiss exports: the cinema by the lake, which takes place down under by the sea. Bryan was in Zurich for a meeting; part of the Australian advertising is created in Switzerland: AD Mathias Schröder of Schröder & Partners in Zollikon is responsible for this.
Also spotted at the party: Brigitte Bolliger, certified advertising manager and personal assistant to Walter Frey, came with Patrizia Haller of Haller Communications. And of course there were also - party people ahoy! - Simon Flatt and Daniel Bächler from Micom were also there. They accompanied Marlin Bretscher and Isabelle Vetter. Isabelle, coming from Optimedia, will take over the head of media at Metzger Lehner Briccola in May.
Despite increased consumption of spirituous beverages, the guests behaved in a civilized manner. Except for Renato Turri from Persönlich. He attracted negative attention right from the start and snatched the only free parking space in the vicinity of the location from under the nose of the WerbeWoche crew ...

radio and television presenter Mona Vetsch explains what puts the icing on the cake at the Facts birthday party, and which of the delicacies served are not to be missed.
