MAZ and CH Media Academy join forces

Not a competitor, but a complement: The MAZ in Lucerne teaches the CH Media Academy trainees basic journalistic skills.

The new course modules tailored to the Academy focus on research, media law, media ethics, dealing with PR, business knowledge and self-organization. The aim of this cooperation is to give budding journalists the tools they need for their day-to-day work, so that they can find their way in the rapidly changing journalistic environment - and do so in the context of CH Media.

"We are very pleased about this partnership; it shows that we are not in competition with each other, but complement each other in a meaningful way - and make us strong together for well-trained young journalists," says MAZ Director Martina Fehr. The courses take place at the MAZ and are practice-oriented. The lecturers are distinguished by their high level of expertise and extensive experience in didactics and methodology; all have been lecturing at the MAZ for several years.

"By combining MAZ courses with our Academy modules, CH Media volunteers can benefit from a broader range of expertise and perspectives that will help them succeed in their careers," says Dominik Widmer, head of the CH Media Academy.
