VZGV recruits learners on Tiktok and Snapchat

Because a classic advertisement no longer reaches all students, the Association of Zurich Municipal and Administrative Professionals advertises via social media.

The Association of Zurich Municipal and Administrative Professionals (VZGV) is breaking new ground. In the current apprenticeship campaign, future apprentices for a commercial apprenticeship in public administration are also being sought on TikTok or Snapchat. Videos on TikTok or Snapchat show the versatility of training in public administration. The protagonists of these short films are young people who are currently completing their commercial apprenticeship at one of Zurich's 162 cities and municipalities. They open their office doors and show what tasks and activities are hidden behind them. The campaign, which was launched at the same time as the Website contains an interactive map that shows which companies offer trial apprenticeships or are looking for apprentices.

Door opener for the future

The message: training in public administration is an attractive way to start a career, a door opener for the future. "There is hardly any commercial apprenticeship that enables customer contact with people from all walks of life and in the most diverse life situations," says the president of the Commission for Apprentices, Tumasch Mischol. "The topics in public administration are close to life and shape everyday life." After the image campaign "For you there. Your Zurich municipalities" last year, the VZGV's "door-opener campaign" is aimed at those starting their careers. Because a classic apprenticeship advertisement has long since ceased to reach all students, in future young people will increasingly be made aware of the attractive basic commercial training via social media.
