Odilia Hiller becomes Co-Editor-in-Chief of "Ostschweiz" and Dieostschweiz.ch

Just recently, the editorial team of "Ostschweiz" celebrated its fifth birthday. Now Ostschweizer Medien AG is announcing the appointment of Odilia Hiller as Co-Editor-in-Chief. The 47-year-old journalist will hold the position from August 1, 2023, together with the current editor-in-chief Marcel Baumgartner.

Odilia Hiller will lead Ostschweiz and the news portal Dieostschweiz.ch in the future with the current editorial director Marcel Baumgartner as co-chief editor.

With her vast journalistic experience and exceptional flair for good stories, Odilia Hiller will play a key role in shaping the editorial content and further developing the publication, according to a media release.

Odilia Hiller studied Romance and German language and literature in Fribourg and Paris. From 2008 to 2022, she worked for the CH-Media daily newspaper St.Galler Tagblatt most recently as deputy editor-in-chief. As regional manager, she led the St.Gallen cantonal and local editorial teams, was daily manager and page maker for online and print.

Before that, for the Sunday edition, she had Ostschweiz am Sonntag responsible. In 2019, the St.Gallen-based journalist and her team won the Eastern Switzerland Media Award for their research into the expenses scandal at the University of St.Gallen. She was also nominated twice as Swiss Journalist of the Year - in the categories of research and column.
