Karin Zimmermann becomes CEO of Dentsu in the DACH region

Dentsu International appoints Karin Zimmermann as CEO for Germany & DACH. Effective January 2023, she will assume responsibility for the entire business in Germany as well as all activities and results in the DACH region.

Former CEO of Madeleine Fashion Group and Amazon and MCG executive Karin Zimmermann now takes over as CEO DACH at Dentsu International. In her new role, she reports to Giulio Malegori, CEO Dentsu EMEA and will be part of the Executive Team in EMEA as well as the Dentsu Germany & DACH Executive Board.

"Karin Zimmermann has many years of experience in managing B2C brands and demonstrates an impressive track record of delivering digital transformations," EMEA CEO Giulio Malegori was quoted as saying in a statement. "In addition, with her cross-industry and cross-cultural management background, she brings everything she needs to drive integrated solutions that help our clients realize their full brand potential and achieve sustainable business results."

Zimmermann has more than 20 years of global experience in brand management and in advising clients on business realignment. Most recently, she drove the digital transformation of fashion retailer Madeleine Fashion Group in her role as CEO. In her time prior to that, she led multiple fashion categories at Amazon, led non-food at one of Australia's largest supermarket chains Coles, and developed customer experiences for fashion company C&A. She also spent more than a decade at Boston Consulting Group BCG, where she helped international clients achieve strategic growth.

She succeeds former Germany and DACH CEO Ulrike Handel, who left Dentsu International in October 2021.
