Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland: New responsibilities in the GL

There will be an adjustment of responsibilities within the management of Ringier Axel Springer Schweiz (RASCH). Michael Moersch, Chief Digital Officer and Head of Business Media, will additionally take over the management of the Beobachter Group as of August 1, 2022. Its current Head Roland Wahrenberger will take over the management of the consumer magazines from CEO Alexander Theobald.

Along the strategic directions and with a focus on digital potential, the responsibilities of the general-interest magazines, Beobachter Group and business media divisions will be reorganized. In order to achieve the transformation of the Beobachter Group (Observer, Guider, Beobachter Edition Verlag as well as Beratungszentrum) and the business title (Handelszeitung, BalanceIn order to be able to more consistently drive forward the development of the print portfolio (including Cash.ch and PME) in the direction of digital revenue models, synergies in the commercial area in particular are to be exploited here. The general-interest magazines continue to focus on the development of the print portfolio consisting of Swiss Illustrated, L`illustré, Lucky mail, Gault&Millau Channel, Caminada, Interview by Ringier, LandLove & CôtéNature, Tele, TVStar, TV8, TV4, TV Land & Lüt.

In the future, we will use his great expertise profitably for the further development of our general-interest magazines. In order to better exploit the existing synergy potential of the business media and the Beobachter Group in the digital transformation in the future, the merging of management responsibilities is a logical consequence," explains Alexander Theobald, CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland.

Bisher Head of User Market leaves RASCH

The management of activities relating to print and online sales marketing and the subscription business will be the direct responsibility of both Michael Moersch and Roland Wahrenberger from August 2022. As part of this decentralization process, the previous Head of User Market Alexander Nitzsche, will leave Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland on January 31, 2023.
