Guests from the Czech Republic accounted for 117,000 hotel nights in Swiss tourism in 2019 and are considered particularly outdoorsy and winter-savvy. Between 2015 and 2019, this market grew by more than 13 percent, according to ST. By 2021, almost 60 percent of Czech guests will be back in Switzerland as a vacation and travel destination. ST expects a complete return to the overnight stay figures of 2019 for the Czech Republic by 2024 at the latest.
Generation change in Prague
After 21 years as head of ST's Prague branch, Alena Koukalová is now retiring. Jan Ursíny has also been active in Swiss tourism advertising in the Czech Republic for many years. He has been the marketing and web manager at ST Prague since 2012. Before that, Ursíny worked at the Swiss-Czech Republic Chamber of Commerce in Prague.
The focus of ST Prague's activities under Ursíny's leadership is particularly on the important B2B disciplines of key account management, media relations, social media, and digital communications.
