NZZ: Johannes Boege becomes CCO, Nicole Rütsche member of GL

NZZ is reorganizing responsibility for the product area at management level as of March 1, 2022. Johannes Boege, previously responsible for the revenue side of the business, is to strengthen and develop the product area as Chief Commercial Officer. In addition, Nicole Rütsche, Head of HR, will be appointed to the Executive Board.

In his expanded role, Johannes Boege is additionally responsible for the Product Development, User Experience, Business Development and Innovation units, as well as the Additional Businesses. He also continues to manage the revenue side of the business. This includes the marketing and subscription business in the user market, which under Audienzz and NZZone bundled marketing in the advertising market as well as the under NZZ Connect merged conference business. He takes over from Sigrun Albert, who moves to the German Association of Digital Publishers and Newspaper Publishers (BDZV) as Managing Director in April. 

Johannes Boege has been Head of Marketing and Sales at NZZ since September 2019 and is a member of the Executive Board. Before starting at NZZ, he held management positions responsible for building and developing subscription businesses, most recently as Chief Product Officer at Politico.

As of March 1, 2022, Nicole Rütsche will become a member of the Executive Board of NZZ. Nicole Rütsche has been Head of Human Resources since August 2020 and was previously a member of the Extended Executive Board. She began her professional career at Kelly Financial Resources. Before joining NZZ, she spent nine years with the Boston Consulting Group in Zurich, most recently as Head of Human Resources and Recruiting.

As of March 1, 2022, the Executive Board of the NZZ company will consist of CEO Felix Graf, CFO Jörg Schnyder, NZZ-Eric Gujer, Editor-in-Chief, NZZaSEditor-in-Chief Jonas Projer, CCO Johannes Boege, Head of Technology Andreas Bossecker and Head of HR Nicole Rütsche.
