Scout24 appoints Martin Waeber as new COO

Martin Waeber, the current Managing Director at ImmoScout24, will assume the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer at Scout24 Switzerland as of June 1, 2021.

The move is part of a reorganization of the corporate management structure at Scout24, the company said in a statement Monday. The COO will be responsible for the operational management of multiple platforms and common functions, including the "real estate ecosystem," and will report directly to the CEO.

This step is in line with Scout24's growth strategy and allows the Managing Directors of all business units - namely AutoScout24, ImmoScout24, FinanceScout24, Anibis.ch and Scout24Advertising - to better focus on their respective platforms and businesses, the statement continues. The search for a successor for the position of Managing Director for ImmoScout24 is already underway.

"After the successful development of ImmoScout24 over the last seven years and due to his profound market knowledge, Martin is an excellent fit for the new COO position and I am very much looking forward to working with him in this role," says Gilles Despas, CEO of Scout24 Switzerland. "His support will allow me to focus more on company-wide strategic planning and less on tactical details. He will also make a major contribution to the implementation of our ambitious growth strategy at Scout24."

Waeber, a business economist (BA), holds an Executive Master of Communications Management and also completed an executive program at IMD in Lausanne. Before joining Scout24, he held various management positions at Credit Suisse, TCS and Eny Finance.
