NZZ: Benedict Neff Becomes New Head of Feuilleton

Benedict Neff, the NZZ's Germany correspondent in Berlin until the beginning of 2020, will be appointed head of the NZZ's feature section as of January 1, 2022. He succeeds René Scheu, who will move to IWP in mid-2021.

Benedict Neff, currently Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Management Board of Axel Springer, is moving back to the NZZ. As of the beginning of 2022, he will take over as head of the feature section. "Benedict Neff has impressively demonstrated in various journalistic functions that he is one of the leading journalistic forces of the young generation in the German-speaking world," says Eric Gujer, Editor-in-Chief of the NZZ, quoted in a statement. "He has a high affinity for cultural topics, social issues and politics. I am very pleased that we were able to recruit him for this key position in our editorial team."

Neff already worked from 2017 to 2020 for the NZZ - first as an editor, then as political correspondent for Germany in Berlin. Before that he was with the Basel Newspaper where he joined as editor for the Politics Switzerland department in 2013, moving to the International department as Germany correspondent in 2015. Benedict Neff started his journalistic career in 2012 at Persoenlich.com as a media journalist. He studied German, history and religious studies at the universities of Zurich and Vienna.
