Anja Burri becomes the new Head of Domestic Affairs at NZZ am Sonntag

Anja Burri takes over as head of the domestic section of NZZ am Sonntag. She succeeds Francesco Benini, who is moving to CH Media as a writer.

Since 2016, 38-year-old Anja Burri has been an editor in the background section of the NZZ on Sunday. Since May 2020, she has also been working as a page editor for the NZZ am Sonntag. Before that, she worked for four years as editor of the Federal Parliament for the domestic department of Tages-Anzeiger and The Covenant. Between 2009 and 2012, she wrote as a domestic editor for the Swiss Dispatch Agency in Bern, where she initially completed a two-year traineeship including an MAZ diploma.

Anja Burri gained her first journalistic experience in local journalism in Basel. She grew up in Muttenz BL, studied sociology, history and media studies at the universities of Basel and Vienna, and now lives with her family in Zurich.
