Susanne Marxer becomes new head of the media department at Bakom
President Simonetta Sommaruga has appointed Susanne Marxer as the new Deputy Director and Head of the Media Division of the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM). The 56-year-old lawyer will take up her new duties on November 1, 2020.
After attending primary and secondary school, Susanne Marxer studied law at the University of Bern, where she also completed her law degree. She then worked as a research assistant for civil law and Roman law at the University of Berne. After obtaining her doctorate (Dr. iur.), she joined Bakom as a media lawyer in 1999. She has been Co-Head of the Media Law Section since 2007.
The Liechtenstein native will succeed Bernard Maissen, who was appointed Director of Bakom on July 1, 2020, as of November 1, 2020.
