RSI director Maurizio Canetta resigns
The director of Radiotelevisione Svizzera RSI Maurizio Canetta has announced his resignation for 2021. This was announced by SRG on Tuesday.

Canetta worked for the company for 40 years and had been elected by the Board of Directors in mid-2014 as Director of RSI and thus also to the SRG Executive Board.
Canetta joined RSI in 1980. After studying literature and philosophy at the University of Pavia, Canetta worked for "Telegiornale" for the first few years, was a federal parliamentary correspondent and produced the program "Domenica Sportiva. In 1993 he became head of the sports department, and in 2000 editorial director of "Telegiornale". In 2010 he took over the management of Culture Radio and TV.
Maurizio Canetta is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the "Fondazione Patrimonio culturale" and President of the "Comunità Radiotelevisiva Italofona".
SRG Director General Gilles Marchand describes Canetta as an "outstanding expert on the Italian-language media world. He represents the interests of Italian-speaking Switzerland within the SRG executive board "with a great deal of commitment" and proved his journalistic qualities during the Corona crisis with his regular program "Con Voi.
