Susanne Wille becomes Head of Culture at SRF

SRF's new Head of Culture is Susanne Wille. In her new role as Head of Culture, the 45-year-old will join SRF's Executive Board. She will succeed Stefan Charles, who is leaving SRF, on June 1 at the latest.

Currently, the future SRF Head of Culture heads the quality and control board in the newsroom and is a member of the operational project team for "SRF 2024," a central SRF transformation project. She also hosts the news magazine "10vor10" and various special programs, for example on the federal elections. In parallel to these activities, Susanne Wille furthered her education in digital strategies and change management at Harvard Business School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT.

The historian and English studies graduate joined SRF in 2001 and was initially a presenter and reporter for "10vor10" for ten years. She then moved to the Federal Parliament as a correspondent and was subsequently a reporter and anchor for "Rundschau. In view of the start-up of the newsroom, Susanne Wille took on a dual role within the TV editorial team at the beginning of 2017, with strategic tasks in the restructuring of the news organization and as presenter of "10vor10" and various special political programs.

On Wednesday, she was elected by the SRG Board of Directors as Head of the Culture Department and Executive Board member at SRF. In her future role, Susanne Wille will be responsible for, among other things, Radio SRF 2 Kultur, the fictional in-house productions, the SRF Dok offerings and the Srf.ch/kultur online platform. Following the departure of Stefan Charles, Deputy Head of Department Barbara Gysi will manage the affairs of the Culture department on an interim basis until the new Head of Culture takes office.
