The audience council unanimously elected the two on Thursday to succeed Roger Blum, as the audience council SRG Deutschschweiz announced the same day. Blum will leave office at the end of March next year.

Schöbi is co-head of the Media and Computer Science department and the Media Education Center at the Lucerne University of Teacher Education, where he lectures on media education. Girsberger, who holds a doctorate in law, has many years of experience in journalism. She is a freelance moderator, communications consultant, and owner and managing director of her own agency.

The two new ombudspersons will share the previous workload of 80 percent equally. (SDA)
