Angelo Trotta becomes new director of Ticino Turismo

The Board of Directors of the Ticino Tourism Agency has appointed Angelo Trotta as the new Director of Ticino Turismo. He will officially take up his post on 01 July 2019. Trotta studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen and has years of experience in national and international marketing and sales.

Born in 1965 in Locarno, Ticino, he has 25 years of international experience in marketing and sales of luxury and consumer goods as well as in financial services. In addition to a degree in business administration from the University of St. Gallen with a focus on "Sales & Marketing," his resume shows various management positions at the top of international groups in Switzerland, Italy, France, Brazil, Germany and Spain. In these positions, he demonstrated in-depth expertise in the development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies and gained many years of experience in the preparation of business plans, including budget planning, regional marketing, project and product management, market analysis, trade marketing as well as digital marketing and sponsoring, according to the statement. Various further training measures, excellent knowledge of the economic and social context in Italian-speaking Switzerland and strong ties to the Canton of Ticino as well as the ability to develop strategic visions (locally and internationally) and outstanding knowledge of six languages complete Angelo Trotta's profile.

"The task of the new director will be to continue to drive forward important topics," explains Aldo Rampazzi, president of Ticino Turismo. "These include digitalization and the increasing importance on the development of tourism products. A task to which Ticino Turismo has already dedicated itself for several years and which will become increasingly important in the future."
