Before joining GST, Flurin Riedi played a key role in shaping tourism development in various functions in the Andermatt vacation region for eight years, most recently as tourism director there for four years. David Matti, President of Gstaad Saanenland Tourismus, is delighted with the choice: "With his professional qualifications, experience and personality, Flurin Riedi is a very good fit for us in the destination and we are confident of a successful future collaboration." GST can thus bring the intensive recruitment process of recent months for the appointment of a new Managing Director to a successful and satisfactory conclusion.

In addition to his day-to-day management duties, Flurin Riedi has made a name for himself in Andermatt in the further development of tourism infrastructure and various project developments. As the local tourism manager, he was also closely involved in the development of the Swiss Alpine Resort, which is known beyond the borders of the country. Riedi, once an elite mountain biker, is looking forward to his new role in the Bernese Oberland with excitement and great anticipation. "The quality tourism practised in the destination of Gstaad and its international appeal, coupled with the offer structure based on local Swiss traditions, spur me on to work together with the tourism service providers to continue the successful and sustainable development of the destination." The tourism expert, who grew up in the canton of Uri and has particular expertise in the area of a tourist mountain destination, will be settling in the destination with his young family.

The 37-year-old will take over from Sébastien Epiney, who is leaving the destination at the end of March. Until Flurin Riedi takes up his post, the current Deputy Director Andrea Riggenbach will take over the management of GST on an interim basis.
