For the full year, the industrial and trading company expects operating earnings (EBIT) before special effects to be on a par with the previous year. The early announcement of Martin Buyle's departure ensures the greatest possible continuity within the company, Orell Füssli announced on Tuesday. Buyle will continue to perform all functions until the end of September 2019. The search for a successor has been initiated, the statement said.

In contrast, the change in management in the Security Printing Division will be brought forward. Michael Kasch will take up his new post in January 2019 and not in April as previously planned.

Strengthening core activities

In the coming months, the board of directors will press ahead with work on the strategic development of the company, according to the statement. In addition to strengthening the core activities in the Security Printing and Banknote Serialisation Division, Orell Füssli will develop a vision for the future by the end of 2019 and define strategic development areas based on this, it said.

With the change in management, Orell Füssli is also supplementing its outlook for the full year. The group expects operating earnings (EBIT) before special effects to be in the same order of magnitude as in the previous year, the company announced. Previous guidance was that Orell Füssli expected the earnings situation to weaken compared with 2017. In addition, the realignment of Atlantic Zeiser would weigh on earnings. (SDA)
