Markus Simmen appointed new Head of Marketing & Communication at Baloise Session

The Baloise Session team led by CEO Beatrice Stirnimann is delighted to welcome Markus Simmen as the new Head of Marketing & Communication. The graduate business economist will take up his position as a member of the Executive Board in Basel on September 1, 2018.

For the last seven years, the business economist managed the business of the Mummenschanz Foundation. Among other things, he successfully organized the entire tours in Switzerland and ensured that the theater company performed all over the world. Before that, he worked in Zurich for Switzerland's largest concert promoter, Good News Productions, as head of marketing and communications. Together with his team, he marketed concerts throughout Switzerland. Subsequently, the 47-year-old family man already worked once in Basel as local managing director of Musical Theater Basel for Freddy Burger Management.

Born in Graubünden, he grew up in Chur and lives with his wife and two children in the Zurich Oberland. His new position offers him the opportunity to come back to Basel: "I have known and appreciated the Baloise Session as a visitor for many years. It is a great concern for me to further establish the successful product Baloise Session in a constantly changing environment. I am very much looking forward to the new challenge." The entire team extends a warm welcome to Markus Simmen and wishes him a good start in Basel. The 33rd edition of the Baloise Session will take place from October 19 to November 6, 2018.
