Franziska von Weissenfluh relinquished her chairmanship duties at the end of April 2017 for personal reasons.

The Board of Trustees of the Mediapulse Foundation, which acted as a search committee on behalf of the supervisory authority DETEC, proposed Naef for election as the new President of the Board of Trustees of the Mediapulse Foundation. With the confirmation by Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard on December 21, 2017, his election by the AGM of Mediapulse was final and legally binding. In his function as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mediapulse Foundation, Peter Urs Naef will also become Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mediapulse. He will take up both new positions in January 2018.

Peter Urs Naef's professional career in the media industry has taken him as far as the CEO position of Jean Frey (now Ringier Axel Springer) and as a member of the Executive Board of the Basel Media Group. In the process, the multi-layered challenges of the media world have sharpened his sense of corporate development, strategy and change management. Today, he is the owner of a consulting company in Zurich, holds various board of directors mandates and supports start-ups as a business angel. Peter Urs Naef is very familiar with Mediapulse's domain, media research - on the one hand as former Chairman of the Board of Directors of WEMF, and on the other from his work as an accomplished media manager.

"Mediapulse stands for a hard currency and thus creates a sustainable basis of trust. It is elementary that we closely follow the rapid changes in the media industry and derive from them the future needs of content creators as well as the advertising industry," Peter Urs Naef said in a statement. "The development of media use will place extended demands on media research, and we must present the appropriate solutions for this."

On January 25, 2018, Peter Urs Naef was also elected to the Board of Directors of NET-Metrix. NET-Metrix is a subsidiary of Mediapulse and WEMF AG for advertising media research and conducts internet usage research.
