Karin Müller appointed new Head of Media Relations at Swiss

As part of the new alignment of corporate communications within the Lufthansa Group, the airline Swiss is adjusting its organizational structure in the area of communications. Tobias Fries and Karin Müller take over senior positions.

The "Strategic Communications & Content Production" unit will be headed by Tobias Fries. From now on, the 32-year-old and his team will be responsible for the strategic planning of corporate communications and the creation of content.

The newly created position of "Head of Media Relations & Online Communications" has been taken over by Karin Müller. In her new role, the 35-year-old heads the media office and is also responsible for the employee news portals.

Daniel Bärlocher, Head of Communications, in a statement said, "With the new organizational structure, we can efficiently plan issues across all divisions and optimally disseminate them through all of Swiss' communication channels."

Tobias Fries joined Swiss' marketing department in 2008. After completing his master's degree in economics and communications at the University of Lugano, he joined the Lufthansa Group's strategic corporate communications department in 2015.

Karin Müller has been with Swiss since 2009 and has served as media spokesperson for the past three years. She holds a master's degree in media and communications from the University of Zurich. As before, the Media Relations team includes media spokespersons Meike Fuhlrott, Sonja Ptassek and Stefan Vasic.
