Daniel Ettlinger leaves NZZ Media Group and becomes CEO of Rheintal Medien

After eleven years with the NZZ Media Group, Daniel Ettlinger is moving to Rheintal Medien. As a member of the extended management board of the NZZ Media Group, he will remain responsible for the Publishing Services, Printing and Reach Media divisions until the end of January.

At the beginning of February 2018, Daniel Ettlinger will take over operational responsibility for Rheintal Medien as CEO. The eastern Swiss media company includes the two regional daily newspapers The Rhine Valley and the Rheintalische Volkszeitungthe regional online portal Rheintaler.ch, the subsidiary Galledia with its commercial printing, specialist publishing and digital divisions, and Copydruck Rheintal. With sales of around CHF 50 million and around 250 employees, Rheintal Medien AG is one of the largest medium-sized media companies in Switzerland with sites in Berneck, Flawil, Frauenfeld, Zurich, Lucerne and Chur.

The succession plan is underway.

Daniel Ettlinger has held various management positions at the NZZ Media Group since 2006. He began as Managing Director of BuchsMedien, headed Multicolor Print from 2008 and NZZ Print in Schlieren from 2013, as well as the Printing and Specialist Publishing division of LZ Medien Holding. In January 2016, he took over responsibility for the entire publishing services of the NZZ Media Group. This includes NZZ Media Services, Multicolor Print and Maxiprint.ch. In mid-June 2017, he joined the Reach Media division with radio and TV in Central and Eastern Switzerland as well as the FM1Today online portal. Before Daniel Ettlinger joined the NZZ Media Group, he managed the Eastern Switzerland branch network of Allgemeine Plakatgesellschaft APG for ten years. He also worked as an editor for Tagblatt Medien and as an advertising salesman for Orell Füssli Werbe AG (Publicitas).
