Fabian Fuhrer becomes new head of sports at TeleZüri

As of September 1, 2017, Fabian Fuhrer will take over as TeleZüri's Head of Sports. He succeeds Andi Merki, who is leaving the regional broadcaster after nine years.

The 25-year-old Fuhrer has been working as a VJ in the newsroom at TeleZüri since 2016. Fabian Fuhrer previously learned the video journalistic craft during four years at Tele Top in Winterthur. He worked in the news and sports editorial departments and played a key role in shaping the football format "Challenge League Magazin". Fuhrer gained his first experience in sports reporting back in 2012 for Radio 105 during the Olympic Games in London. On the occasion of numerous live reports of major sporting events such as the athletics meeting, the Spengler Cup or the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel, Fabian Fuhrer underlined his skills and deepened his expertise, according to the statement.
