Sven Furrer new presenter at Teleclub
Just in time for the launch of the free TV channel Teleclub Zoom, Teleclub has signed up the Valais entertainer and former footballer Sven Furrer as a presenter. Furrer will be in front of the camera for Switzerland's largest sports channel from July.
Teleclub is gearing up for the new 2017/18 football season: Sven Furrer will be the presenter for the live studios of the Raiffeisen Super League as well as for the new football talk show on the free TV channel Teleclub Zoom, the broadcaster writes in a press release. In this one-hour talk show, he will review the football weekend together with top-class guests on Sunday evenings. Together with established experts Daniel Gygax, Pascal Zuberbühler and Marcel Reif, Furrer will shed light on current events.
"Football has always been a great passion of mine"
Furrer is known to a wide audience as part of the comedy duo "Edelmais". After a successful comedy career spanning more than 10 years, the former teacher, journalist and winner of the "Prix Walo" has set himself new goals and is looking forward to the challenge at Teleclub: "Sport has been my passion for years. Now I can report live from the sidelines and at the same time use my journalistic skills in a completely new talk format - it couldn't be better! I'm ready to immerse myself one hundred percent in the football action!"
The 46-year-old already has experience in the sports sector: He has worked as a media coach for HC Davos for four years and supports professional athletes during their careers. As a child, he played ice hockey as well as football, but decided to take up the green grass as a teenager. He was a passionate footballer until the age of 21. "Sport has a long tradition in our family: as a former record-breaking international ice hockey player, my father practically passed on his passion for sport to me in the cradle," says Furrer.
Claudia Lässer, Head of Programming and Member of the Executive Board at Teleclub, can only underline this: "Sven Furrer embodies everything an RSL presenter needs to bring to the table. He is an experienced journalist who, as a former footballer, knows both sides. Sven is also an entertainer who has gained a lot of live experience in recent years. We are certain that Sven will definitely enrich our broadcasts."
