Martin Oswald becomes Head of Online at St. Galler Tagblatt

Martin Oswald is moving from Swiss Radio and Television SRF to the NZZ Media Group and will become Head of Online and a member of the editorial team at the St. Galler Tagblatt from August 1.

The 36-year-old is responsible for the further development of the digital platforms and, together with his team, implements the digital strategy of the NZZ Media Group's regional media. "With Martin Oswald, we have not only gained a proven digital expert for the further development of our online offering, but also a passionate journalist with strong personal roots in our region," says Stefan Schmid, Editor-in-Chief of the St. Galler Tagblatt. Oswald succeeds 38-year-old Sarah Gerteis, who is moving to the City of St. Gallen as Head of Social Affairs and Security as of July 1.

Martin Oswald studied communication sciences in the USA and then completed a Master's degree in journalism at the MAZ in Lucerne. He joined Swiss radio and television in 2005: He initially worked as a radio reporter and editor for SRF 3's morning show, later taking on management responsibility as head of the online team, where he helped to drive digital change and build up the web and social media offering. Since 2015, he has led a team of 15 people in digital product development at SRF Online. Martin Oswald also works as a lecturer for media development and social media strategy at various universities of applied sciences. Oswald lives in St. Gallen.
