Isabelle Welton's ordinary term of office will expire at the upcoming Annual General Meeting on April 22, 2017. Isabelle Welton has been a member of the Board since 2013. She is standing for re-election and will be proposed by the Board of Directors for a further four-year term of office.

This is in stark contrast to Joachim Schoss, who has decided to step down from the Board of Directors for personal reasons. The Board of Directors regrets and respects his decision, according to a statement. As an entrepreneur and expert in the field of digital media, Schoss has contributed a great deal of specialist knowledge and experience to the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors will propose Lucy Küng to the Annual General Meeting as her successor. Küng is Professor of Media Innovation at the University of Oslo and Google Digital News Senior Research Fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford. Her research area is strategy and organizational development with a focus on business model innovation. She has extensive experience in the media industry, especially in the context of digital transformation.

Born in London in 1959 and resident in Switzerland since 1992, Lucy Küng completed her doctorate and habilitation at the business administration department of the University of St. Gallen. She is a member of the Journalistic Advisory Board of the NZZ Media Group and has been a member of the SRG SSR Board of Directors since 2008. If elected, she would resign from the SRG Board of Directors.
