Bigna Silberschmidt succeeds Anna Maier

Bigna Silberschmidt joins the anchor team at "Schweiz aktuell. After a training period, she will present the regional magazine alternately with Sabine Dahinden, Katharina Locher, Otmar Seiler and Michael Weinmann.

Bigna Silberschmidt, 30, graduated from the University of Fribourg in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in media and communication sciences and in 2013 with a trilingual (D, F, E) master's degree in business administration with a focus on marketing, strategic management and nonprofit management. From 2010 to 2012, Bigna Silberschmidt was editor and deputy editorial director at 20 Minuten Bern. She then worked as a freelance journalist for various trade magazines. From 2010 to 2014, the 30-year-old was also co-publisher and editor of the reportage magazine "Zalle".

Bigna Silberschmidt joined Swiss radio and television in 2015, initially as an intern at Radio SRF 3, where she also worked as a reporter for "Jeder Rappen zählt" and other programs. She then moved to "Schweiz aktuell" as an editor in 2016. In addition, she also worked for the theme day "SRF Menschmaschine" and "Hallo SRF". Bigna Silberschmidt will now succeed Anna Maier, who is leaving SRF at the end of the year to take up a position in the private sector, at the beginning of 2017 after a familiarization period as presenter of "Schweiz aktuell.
