Gioia Bozzato has been managing ADC Switzerland since September 2012. In her private life, she lives in Kilchberg with her teenage son Guy, loves traveling and art.

Werbewoche.ch: How long have you been in a home office?

Gioia Bozzato: On Monday afternoon, March 16, we decided with a heavy heart to close the ADC Switzerland office and move to a home office.

Is the entire ADC office located in a home office?

Yes, Hanna and I, as well as the Board and a large majority of ADC Members and Friends, work from home.

Did you face any technical issues while setting up your workstation?

Once the room with the best Wi-Fi and acoustic conditions was found, the charging cables were laid and the headphones were ready, it was a breeze.

Where have you set up?

In the morning I prefer the sun on my balcony (Pfnüselküste) and in the afternoon in the dining room.

What all do you need to be able to do your job?

Not much: Swisscom, so I'm in touch with the world out there, and an espresso in between!

Is it difficult to separate yourself enough when the children are at home?

No, my son is 16 years old and self-employed - homeschooling with online face-to-face classes is on his daily schedule. We don't get in each other's way that way.

Do you have home office experience or is this a first?

As a working single mom, this is not new territory for me. The only thing new about the whole situation is being stuck. I take every opportunity while on the phone to stretch my legs.

Based on initial experience: Which processes are difficult compared to normal everyday work?

The contact with the board, the ADC members and our partners continues to work smoothly and Hanna and I were also able to take most of the projects home with us. Nevertheless, I miss the office on Zentralstrasse: the "guete Morge" and the warm smile of Hanna, Eddie our office dog and the door that opens for spontaneous visits.

Is there anything that even works easier or more productively in the home office?

No one is "out of office" or just everyone - finally everyone is reachable!

Should the home office phase last longer: What do they do to prevent the ceiling from falling on your head?

In addition to the rowing machine, which is running its lengths again, I may get a punching bag - I miss my weekly workout.

As we all know, everything has its positive sides. What is it in your current home office situation?

Since my son doesn't go to school in Zurich and I usually only see him on the weekends, I enjoy having him with me now.

The coronavirus has society firmly in its grip. Those who can stay at home, stay at home. The advertising and communications industry is also shifting operations to the home office on a large scale. With the series "Greetings from the home office," Werbewoche.ch sheds light on everyday working life within the four walls of one's home.
