1. you could swap your smartphone with someone else's for a day. Would you? And if so, with whom?
With Angela Merkel to confuse the NSA a bit.

2. what would you work for free for one month (one week)?
I do it all the time, but mostly involuntarily. But voluntarily I find the relief organization
Zukunft-fuer-kinder.ch a super thing, would invest for it also more than one week.

3. do you fall for advertising? When?
Most of all on their own...

4. what does not come to the office under any circumstances?
Boredom.

5. what would you most like to promote?
For customers who believe in ideas.

6. was there a moment in your life when you thought: Wow. This is awesome. And it's from me!
The birth of my children.

Good advertising for others.

Joan Collins and Aretha Franklin in the Snickers commercial.

9. what is it impossible for you to do without?
Anything that has to do with water - preferably in the form of powder snow or surging waves.

10. what do you think about owned media?
Few who get it right. Many who get it wrong.

11. what inspired you to enter the advertising industry?
BBH's work was groundbreaking at the time.

12. which advertising medium do you find abominable?
Bicycle jerseys are already one of the ugliest things you can see on the street.

13. which websites do you use regularly? (private/professional)
WeatherPro, while an app, is almost as important as the agenda for an outdoors person.

Daniel Meier is the founder and co-owner of the Küsnacht-based communications agency Unikat. Before founding the company in 2003, the trained graphic designer worked as an art and creative director for numerous national and international agencies, including Publicis, McCann-Erickson, Demner & Merlicek Vienna, DDB Düsseldorf and Jung von Matt/ Limmat. Unikat's client portfolio includes companies such as Pfister, Lidl Switzerland and Rausch. The agency is responsible for the current "Campaign of the Year" ("Barry and Hans" for Swiss fruit), voted for by the readers of Werbewoche.
