Swiss Post acquires Livesystems and expands into digital advertising

Swiss Post already distributes physical advertising for its customers. Now it is expanding into digital advertising with the acquisition of Livesystems. Not included in the purchase is the news platform Nau.ch.

Livesystems, based in Liebefeld BE, specializes in advertising using digital posters and screens, Swiss Post announced on Thursday. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Range expansion through acquisition

In addition to train stations, buses, gas stations and other high-traffic locations, Livesystems also advertises in post offices. The company maintains over 8000 advertising screens.

With this purchase, Swiss Post wants to offer its customers the full range of advertising options. It is strengthening its position as a distribution channel for advertising, according to the statement.

Livesystems remains independent

Nothing will change for the 89 Livesystems employees, who will remain employed by the company. The company, which will continue to operate independently, will become a Post subsidiary and not be integrated into the parent company.

The takeover is limited to the advertising distribution of Livesystems. The editorial team of the online portal Nau Media will not be taken over. (SDA)
