Great cinema in the elevator

Schindler Ahead products create animated information opportunities and lucrative advertising space around the elevator. Precise technology and smooth content integration are convincing across all industries. For example, in the St. Jakob-Park shopping center in Basel and the Storchen Hotel in Zurich.

In the St. Jakob-Park shopping center, the cinema experience begins while waiting for the elevator: thanks to the Ahead DoorShow, the doors of the two Schindler passenger elevators serve as a screen for animated content. Once you enter the elevator, the show continues. One Ahead AdScreen and one SmartMirror each transform the two cabs into small movie theaters. The large-format displays are seamlessly integrated into the rear cabin wall and surprise passengers with pin-sharp spots in brilliant colors.

Interactive advertising opportunities, such as those offered by the Ahead products, are particularly interesting for shopping center operators. "Visitors want to be entertained," says Daniel Zimmermann, head of Wincasa's St. Jakob-Park shopping center. "Moving, well-animated images arouse attention and enthusiasm. Skillful product placement can also generate additional sales."

Luxurious stork nest

The well-known five-star Storchen hotel in Zurich created the luxurious rooftop bar "The Nest" in 2019. To access this, Schindler's existing passenger elevator was extended from the fifth to the sixth floor and extensively modernized. In the cabin, an Ahead SmartMirror draws the attention of hotel guests as well as spontaneous visitors to the hotel's strengths. There are spots for "The Nest," the exclusive "Dinner for Two" on the hotel's own jetty, or the fish buffet by André Jaeger.

The Storchen is the first hotel in the greater Zurich area to use such a smart display, with content managed by the internal marketing team via CMS. "In this way, we can announce the hotel's current events at any time or inform our guests about interesting events in the city," explains Raphael Pedroncelli, Managing Director Operations at the Storchen. When the elevator is not in use, the cabin waits on the first floor with its doors open. In this way, it becomes another friendly space that invites people to enter. For Raphael Pedroncelli, the multimedia information in the elevator is an ideal fit for the Storchen: "We want to be a pioneer within the luxury hotel industry and be oriented towards the future. Thanks to the partnership with Schindler, this has been achieved. The collaboration is reliable and very pleasant."

Open for all

Existing or new elevators can be transformed into cinemas with ease by Schindler. No matter how different the needs of the hotel and retail industries may be: Schindler Ahead products connect quickly and easily. The system is open to all advertising marketers and needs and can be supplemented with additional products at any time.
