"Merry Goldmas": Musical greetings from Goldbach
The Goldbach Group sends musical Christmas greetings to the world from Küsnacht - and rewrites the hit song "We Are The World" for it.
Almost everyone knows the song "We Are The World" by the all-star group "USA for Africa. Led by Harry Belafonte, Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, the song was used in 1985 to raise money for people affected by a major famine in Ethiopia.
The Goldbach Group has given the legendary melody a new twist - and humorously thanks its customers for their cooperation in 2019 with a lyric based on its business.
"The idea was developed in a dialog between marketing and management," explains Iris Blättler, Head of Corporate Communications at Goldbach Group. Employees who wanted to perform the self-penned song lyrics to the well-known melody found each other very quickly: "The motivation was there right away," says Blättler, who can also be heard in the song herself.
The recording and the video for "We are Goldbach" were then made at Powerplay Studios in Maur, where Europe had also recorded "The Final Countdown" in the 1980s.
