Cinema advertising at the touch of a button: WerbeWeischer and Galaxus launch cinema advertising platform

The cinema marketer WerbeWeischer and the online department store Galaxus are launching an online platform where cinema advertising can be booked at the push of a button. The offer is primarily aimed at SMEs.

The two companies worked together to find ways to bring together the vibrant cinema experience with the need for easy-to-book advertising.

The result is a booking platform on Galaxus: Contact packages for 19 cities throughout Switzerland, in increments of 5,000 from 5,000 to 55,000 within 5 weeks, can now be purchased on Galaxus like vouchers and redeemed via WerbeWeischer Schweiz. One chooses online how many contacts one would like to reach and books the suitable package in addition. At an all-in price, which also includes the usual provision costs.

The offering is primarily intended to complement the local and regional market. All previous offerings, which include personal advice, will remain in full force.

"The start-up drive is clearly noticeable".

"In some cases, we had to really turn familiar thoughts and approaches on their head in order to arrive at an offer that could be automated, as the digital world demands," says Christof Kaufmann, CEO of WerbeWeischer Schweiz.

He and his Head of Digital Cinema, Fredi D'Acierno, were correspondingly "tingly": "It was a real start-up feeling. All the more so because we had the impression that our partners at Digitec Galaxus, despite all the success of their company, are as fresh as they were at the very beginning.

Cinema also "a new dimension" for Digitec Galaxus

The enthusiasm is mutual, as Stefan Fraude, Head of Cateqory Management at Digitec Galaxus, confirms: "The fact that the inherently somewhat complex and elaborate purchase of cinema advertising can be made online in a modular and simple way in the shortest possible time for the SME target group was both new and exciting for us as Digitec Galaxus."

The idea grew out of the ongoing exchange, as Digitec Galaxus has been one of the most active cinema advertisers in Switzerland for some time.
