Change at the top of the Baselmedia Foundation

Niggi Tamm, long-standing member of the Board of Trustees and President of the Baselmedia Foundation, is stepping down and will be succeeded by Nadine Zollinger.

There will be a change at the top of the Baselmedia Foundation, which operates the regional television station Telebasel and the news portal Baseljetzt: Nadine Zollinger (46) will replace Niggi Tamm (67) at the beginning of 2024, who has decided to step down after 25 years on the Board of Trustees, three and a half of which as Chairman.

Nadine Zollinger has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Baselmedia Foundation since 2019. A lawyer specializing in media law, she worked for several years as a lawyer for the former Cablecom. From 2013, she headed the legal department at UPC Switzerland and was also a member of the management boards of UPC and Sunrise.

With the program relaunch at Telebasel and the launch of the news portal Baseljetzt at the beginning of this year, the desired journalistic reorientation has been successfully completed. With the upcoming relicensing of Telebasel for a further ten years, the future of the foundation is secure. Niggi Tamm has experienced and helped shape the history of the foundation practically from the very beginning. In the mid-1990s, he joined the Board of Trustees of the former Cable Network Foundation as a representative of Basel's rural communities. In the summer of 2020, he took over the chairmanship, streamlined the foundation board, installed the current management and editorial team and finally gave the go-ahead for the journalistic relaunch at the beginning of this year.
