The SRG station Couleur 3 in the French-speaking part of Switzerland let artificial intelligence enter the program for one day: The presenters' voices were cloned, the texts generated by the US chat robot ChatGPT.

Cloned voices will go on the air from 06.00 to 19.00 on Thursday, except in news broadcasts, announced the Westschweizer Radio RTS on Twitter. On Friday, a balance of the experiment is to be drawn at the station based in Lausanne VD.

Even real-life people such as former US presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama are to be imitated, according to a report by CH Media. According to the report, most of the music played on the station was composed entirely or at least partially by artificial intelligence.

The radio's editorial team wants to test the limits of artificial intelligence, question habits and also provoke something, "Couleur 3" boss Antoine Multone was quoted as saying. Listeners would be regularly informed about the extraordinary experiment. (sda)
