Campaign of the Swiss Federation of the Deaf.

This is provided for in an agreement that the SRG management has signed with representatives of the associations of people with sensory disabilities, the Swiss Federation of the Deaf (SGB) announced.

The agreement also includes an expansion of programs interpreted into sign language. Instead of the current 1000 hours per year, SRF is to offer at least 1300 hours of sign language broadcasts by 2027.

The SGB welcomes the agreement. "Although they pay the same fees as everyone else, people with hearing disabilities have so far only had a limited range of services available to them," the statement said. With this agreement, the SRG shows that it takes its role seriously as a public service accessible to all, it added. (sda)
