Blick.ch apparently wants to introduce paywall
According to media reports, Blick could start using paid content for service contributions next year. However, the majority of the content will remain free of charge, it said.
From spring 2023, not all articles on Blick.ch will be accessible free of charge. As Media Week a spokesperson for the Blick Group confirmed to the trade magazine that part of the offering will be behind a paywall starting next spring. The idea is not new: Plans for a pay offer had already made the rounds in December 2012 (Werbewoche.ch reported).
The paid articles are primarily contributions with a service character and a high utility value for the audience, according to the report. The majority, however, will continue to be accessible free of charge. Currently, the publisher is already looking for corresponding employees.
