With "BärnToday", CH Media's fifth regional online platform goes live

"BärnToday", the new news portal for the Bern region, is live. A team rooted in the Bern region has been recruited and new positions created for CH Media Entertainment's fifth regional online platform. Cornelia Egli will take over as trimedial editor-in-chief in Bern on November 1.

With the launch of "BärnToday bärntoday.ch CH Media Entertainment expands its Today platforms into another region. Following "FM1Today" in eastern Switzerland, "PilatusToday" in central Switzerland, "ArgoviaToday" in the Mittelland region and "ZüriToday" in the Zurich region, the Bern region will now also be supplied with "BärnToday" on the informative and entertaining Today content.

Behind "BärnToday" is a trimedial editorial team of 12, which is rooted in the Bern region. The Today editorial team is headed by Tobias Karlen. The 30-year-old from Bern brings with him a wealth of experience in regional journalism and has worked for Radio Bern1 in various functions over the past four years, most recently as editorial director.

The trimedial editorial team at the Bern site is headed by Cornelia Egli. In her more than 20-year career as a media professional, Egli has held various positions in radio, TV and online. Most recently, the 48-year-old worked for around ten years as a news editor for SRF in Bern, where she has also been team leader of the Bern online news editorial team since 2017. Cornelia Egli will take up her new position as trimedial editor-in-chief in Bern on November 1, 2022. Until then, the Bern radio, TV and Today editorial team will be led ad interim by Peter Scheurer. He will continue to hold his position as program director of Radio BERN1. The trimedial management team will be complemented by Markus Von Känel, Editor-in-Chief of TeleBärn.

New positions created

Florian Wanner, Head of Radio CH Media, says of the launch of "BärnToday": "Following the acquisition of Radio BERN1 last year, the launch of BärnToday in the now trimedial newsroom is the logical step, which we can implement earlier than planned."

Pascal Scherrer, Head of TV Regional CH Media, says of the latest Today project: "With BärnToday, we want to offer the Bern region a sustainably attractive journalistic offering and set trends. It's particularly great that we can once again create new jobs with a Today platform."
