CH Media expands Today network

CH Media will soon launch an online platform for the Bern region (BärnToday) and a platform for the Solothurn region in 2023. Four similar portals with news and entertainment already exist in the regions of Zurich, Aargau, and eastern and central Switzerland.

TodayThe Today network is being further expanded, CH Media announced on Thursday. These Today platforms offer information and entertaining regional content. Most of the contributions come from the media company's regional radio and TV stations.

The Today platform in Bern will go online soon, the media office said in response to a query. The company did not provide any further details.

The Today platform for the Solothurn region is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2023, according to the media release. The editorial director will be Manfred Joss, program director and editorial director of Radio 32, which also belongs to CH Media. The company plans to announce the name of the portal at a later date.

The media company CH Media, which was founded in 2018, includes among others. Aargauer newspaper, Lucerne Newspaper and St. Galler Tagblatt as well as various radio and TV stations such as Radio Bern1, Tele Bärn, Tele Züri and 3Plus. The company is a merger of AZ Medien and the NZZ Media Group.

In the first quarter of 2023, AZ Medien AG (AZ) acquires a majority stake in the media group CH Media from publisher Peter Wanner (Werbewoche.ch reported). AZ will then hold a 65 percent stake, and NZZ 35 percent. The new CEO of CH Media in 2023 will be Michael Wanner, Peter Wanner's son. (SDA)
